Plot
Simon Kaufmann, a successful doctor, has a complicated relationship with his father, Karl. When Karl and his wife, Claudia, go on vacation, Simon starts a flirtation with his father's mistress, Rebecca. As Simon spends more time with Rebecca, he becomes entangled in a web of family secrets and lies.
As the story unfolds, Simon's relationships with his parents, his wife, and his own children are revealed. Through a series of flashbacks, the movie shows Simon's childhood, his parents' troubled marriage, and the events that shaped his own family dynamics.
